Technical Build Support – Learning & Development

Women’s Refuge, National Collective of Independent Women’s Refuge Incorporated (Women’s Refuge NZ) is New Zealand’s only national provider working to protect women and children from family violence. Our national office provides a wide range of advocacy, advisory, training, fundraising and support services to member refuges, Government, agencies and our many business partners.

Our vision is for all women and children in New Zealand/Aotearoa to live free from family violence.

About the Role

Part-time – 20 hours per week

The role of the Technical Build Support is to implement tailored learning and development experiences and create resources  in learning formats that meet the organisations training requirements. The Technical Build Support role works closely with the Senior Learning Advisor, who provides creative and learning focused direction around the content, methodologies, asset development, design, key languaging, technical and publishing tools used to build training resources.

We’re looking for a creative, forward thinking, self-motivated someone to join our small team. Alongside asking for help, an ability to request and positively apply  critique is vital to this role. If you work well with guidance and direction, use your initiative,  both independently (as the role is based remotely) and in regular consultation with other remote team members this might be an opportunity for you.

Are you a creative with great technical skills? This varied role will see you designing learning resources one day and problem shooting technical issues in the background of eLearning programmes the next.

You will:

  • manage and maintain our learning platforms, ensuring smooth operation and access for learners
  • create interactive and visually engaging eLearning modules and practical resources using graphic and video design and digital learning tools
  • identify opportunities to refine learning processes, enhance user experience, and improve training effectiveness

This role is a great opportunity to develop your skills in learning design and training support for an organisation that makes a difference.

We’d like to hear from you if you:

  • are experienced in training, learning facilitation or teaching
  • have experience within the social sector
  • skilled in complex technical analysis and design implementation
  • have an analysis of family violence;
  • are current with online and in person learning and design development;
  • have a relevant tertiary qualification and or extensive experience using Articulate, Canva, video, image and photographic editing and design programmes
