National Office (NCIWR)
Kaiārahi – NCIWR Quality Service Support
Women’s Refuge, National Collective of Independent Women’s Refuge Incorporated (Women’s Refuge NZ) is New Zealand’s only national provider working to protect women and children from family violence. Our national office provides a wide range of advocacy, advisory, training, fundraising and support services to member refuges, Government, agencies and our many business partners.
Our vision is for all women and children in New Zealand/Aotearoa to live free from family violence.
About the Role
We are looking for someone to fill a Kaiārahi role based at our national office in Wellington. Primarily the role supports our national office operations to provide services to affiliated member refuges.
The Kaiārahi – Quality service support fulfils a key monitoring and audit function to identify evidence of good practice and quality service and are in line with NCIWR standards of practice, with policies and procedures being followed. In carrying out this function, refuge members are enabled to be lead providers of family violence intervention and prevention services.
This position is part of a small tight knit team that prides themselves on camaraderie, efficiency, underpinned by proud team culture supporting outcomes for both Māori and Tauiwi.
Key Requirements for this role:
- Ability to travel frequently with overnight stays away from home is essential and fundamental to carrying out audit and monitoring functions.
- A non-judgmental and impartial approach while performing an audit function is a strong requirement for this position.
- A current and full drivers license is essential.

- Information gathering, evaluation, interpretation
- Planning and project management skills
- Excellent report writing skills
This is a full-time position based at the National Office in Wellington. Management experience within community development or relationship management, implementing policies and practices and/or a community audit function is necessary to support success in this role. Experience working in community development or for a not-for-profit organisation would be a definite advantage.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo reference checks and security clearance.
